Towel Rack

We have gone without a towel rack in the bathroom for about a year thanks to Austin. He ripped it out of the wall swinging into the bath tub (you gotta love little boys!) I thought it could be fun to make a more personalized place for the boys to put their towels. I found the board at DI for $2 and with a little paint, hardware, and vinyl it's like brand new.

A Clean Home

A few of my friends have asked me what the trick is to keeping a clean house and I have officially found it!!! This list is super easy to stick to and will help us all to keep our houses in order. If you want a copy for yourself you can print it off at my favorite website: http://www.brownpaperpackages.com/.

Cardboard Project

I have been looking for something to hang above my bed and after making my jewelry board I realized that working with fabric is so fun and the ideas can be limitless. This is an inexpensive, unique way to make a little art on the wall. You will need: cardboard or cork tiles, fabric, glue gun, and adhesive.
Step 1: I covered my cork with fabric. Tacks work great on cork.

Step 2: Cut your cardboard and cover with fabric, it's better to use your hot glue to attach the fabric.

Step 3: I played around with how I wanted it to look before I glued the cork onto the cardboard.

Step 4: Hang it up, I hung mine up with adhesive velcro.

Another view, I really like how it turned out.

DIY Jewelry Holder

I was inspired to make this for two reasons: I wasn't wearing a lot of my necklaces and they were becoming knotted up in my bathroom drawer. This was very easy to do and it's a great bathroom decoration. Here's what you will need: 1. cork board ( bought mine at DI for $3, it's also at Hobby Lobby for $8) 2. fabric 3. tacks 4. old frame 5. hooks
Step 1: I took the frame off this cork board and wrapped it with my fabric.

Step 2: Tack the fabric tightly around the it.

Step 3: I took the glass out of this frame and duck taped the cork board to the back of it. I added the hooks last and then hung it up. It's nice to have my jewelry out where I can remember to wear it.

Winter Wreath

I had been looking for something to put on my door that wasn't Christmas"y" but still worked for winter time. I found this idea at http://www.twojunkchix.blogspot.com and decided to make one!

Here's what you will need:

a few silver ornaments

3 different sizes of styrofoam balls

styrofoam wreath

twine looking wrap

yarn in white, off white, dark grey, light grey

hot glue gun

Then you will wrap your wreath and make all your yarn balls.

Then glue all the balls onto the wreath and VUALAAAA it's done!

*Some money saving tips: find a friend to do this with you so you can share the yarn, print out Micheals coupons for 40% off one item.

Old Doors

I think my next project that I want to attempt is turning antique doors into home decor. I really want to try to make a corner shelf by cutting a door in half the way this one was done. To give credit where credit is due, I got this idea from a cute blog called www.littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com.

Happy Birthday Best Friend

I just wanted to wish the love of my life a Happy Birthday! 33 Looks good on you, I swear you never age! I was blessed the day I met you and you have made me happier than I ever thought I could be. You are so selfless and I try every day to become more like you. I love you more than I could ever express in words. I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together......

Look how adorable you were!!! No wonder I wanted to have your babies:)

Even though I know you don't like a lot of attention put on you I love spoiling you and putting you in the spotlight.

You are just as handsome today as the day I married you!

I LOVE how adventurous you are, you make me want to try new things.

You are constantly trying to come up with fun and creative things for us to do as a family.

I love your sense of humor. I still can't believe the only "real" smile I could get from you on our vacation was on a castle toilet that you were so proud to come across:)

I'm a bit of a scaredy cat and I love how safe you make me feel on our travels.

I love you Curtis Wayne Craig!
